ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The School Administrator assumes responsibility for all administrative functions within the school, including facilities and asset management.
Duties include:
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Oversees the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure they are in optimal condition for use.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and schedule repairs as necessary.
- Manages contracts with external vendors for specialized maintenance services.
Safety and Security:
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of students, staff, and visitors.
- Coordinates emergency preparedness plans and conducts drills to ensure everyone is familiar with safety protocols.
Space Management:
- Optimizes the use of space within the school premises, including classrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Plans and oversees renovations or construction projects to meet the evolving needs of the school.
- Manages the requirements for events, meetings, and other activities.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develops and manages budgets for facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Procures supplies, equipment, and services while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficient resource management practices.
Environmental Sustainability:
- Promotes and implements environmentally friendly practices, such as energy conservation, water management, waste management, and recycling initiatives.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborates with school faculty and staff to understand their needs and provide support related to facility management.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders, including parents, contractors, and community members, regarding facility-related matters.
- Participates in meetings to contribute insights and recommendations on facility-related issues.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with local, state department related to school facilities, safety standards, and accessibility requirements.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation related to maintenance activities, inspections, permits, and certifications.
- Participates in audits and inspections to demonstrate adherence to regulatory standards.
Transportation and Routing:
- Plans and coordinates bus routes to optimize efficiency, minimize travel time, and ensure timely arrival and departure of buses.
- Manages bus scheduling, driver assignments, and student transportation eligibility criteria.
- Communicate transportation policies, schedules, and route changes to parents, students, and school staff.
