Job Summary
The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, supervising, and executing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works for residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects. The role ensures that all MEP installations comply with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs before execution.
- Coordinate MEP activities with civil, structural, and architectural teams.
- Supervise installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and project schedules.
- Monitor daily site progress and prepare progress reports.
Design & Coordination
- Review MEP shop drawings and coordinate with consultants.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts using coordination meetings and BIM/AutoCAD where applicable.
- Ensure all MEP services are properly integrated with architectural and structural elements.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize cost and performance.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks during installation.
- Review material submittals and approve installation methods.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Cost & Procurement
- Prepare material requisitions and quantity estimates.
- Coordinate procurement of MEP materials and equipment.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Assist in evaluating subcontractor quotations and vendor performance.
Site Management
- Supervise MEP subcontractors and site engineers.
- Ensure adherence to construction schedules.
- Attend project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Resolve site-related technical issues promptly.
Documentation
- Maintain daily work reports and inspection records.
- Review as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure timely closure before project handover.
- Maintain project documentation for audits and client submissions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 7–10 years of experience in MEP engineering within the real estate and construction industry.
- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, ELV, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with Revit MEP and BIM coordination is preferred.
- Knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Understanding of local building codes, NBC, electrical regulations, and safety standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
