Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 6-month contractual role to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and backend services. The role covers all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, debugging, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in Java 17, Spring Boot, backend systems, databases, and cross-functional collaboration, and is comfortable working in a fast-moving, project-driven environment in a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and backend services.
- Build scalable APIs, microservices, and integrations to support business applications.
- Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, and production incidents, then implement sustainable fixes.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps, and other developers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and release planning.
- Update and enhance existing applications with fixes, patches, and new features.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Core Java including hands-on experience with Java 17 or newer LTS versions.
- Experience designing and developing applications using Spring Boot or Java EE platforms.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
- Strong familiarity with modern Java features (e.g., records, pattern matching, sealed classes) from Java 17+.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies.
- Experience with testing tools and validating production-ready code.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile delivery practices.
- Experience working in client-facing or consulting-style delivery environments.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
