Job Purpose:
The Housekeeping Executive is responsible for assisting in the smooth operation of the Housekeeping Department by ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, and guest satisfaction. The role involves supervising housekeeping staff, coordinating room readiness, maintaining departmental records, and ensuring compliance with hotel standards and safety procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations:
- Supervise daily housekeeping operations across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Ensure all rooms are cleaned, inspected, and released as per hotel standards.
- Coordinate with the Front Office regarding room status and guest requests.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Monitor the upkeep of corridors, lobbies, banquet areas, restaurants, and public washrooms.
- Ensure prompt handling of guest requests, complaints, and special requirements.
Team Management:
- Supervise and allocate daily duties to housekeeping associates.
- Monitor staff attendance, grooming, punctuality, and discipline.
- Train and mentor team members on housekeeping standards, SOPs, and guest service.
- Conduct daily departmental briefings and shift handovers.
Inventory & Linen Control:
- Monitor housekeeping supplies, guest amenities, and cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain linen, uniforms, and inventory records.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Coordinate with the Laundry Department for linen availability and quality.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Adhere to hotel policies, SOPs, and environmental sustainability practices.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Department for maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety and emergency procedures.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily housekeeping reports and occupancy status.
- Maintain lost and found records as per hotel policy.
- Monitor departmental checklists and inspection reports.
- Assist in monthly inventory and stock verification.
- Maintain proper documentation related to housekeeping operations.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management.
- Certification in Housekeeping Operations is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in Housekeeping operations in a 4-star or 5-star hotel.
- At least 2 year of supervisory experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Guest-centric approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office and Hotel PMS).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Requires prolonged standing, walking, and supervising operational areas.
