Job Title: Senior Inspection Engineer
Reports To: Inspection Supervisor / Senior Inspector
Location: South Bombay and over all western line
Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹50,000 per month (based on experience and qualifications)
Job Summary
Uniquo is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Inspection Engineer to oversee inspection and quality control activities. The candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, identifying non-conformities, preparing detailed reports, guiding junior inspection engineers, and ensuring compliance with required safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of materials, components, machines, cranes, equipment, structures, and finished products.
- Perform measurements using instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometres, screw gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Identify, document, and report deviations, defects, and non-conformities.
- Prepare inspection checklists, reports, and other required documentation.
- Supervise and guide Assistant Inspection Engineers and junior team members during field inspections.
- Review inspection reports and ensure accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, site teams, and senior management regarding inspection-related matters.
- Assist in quality audits and internal inspections.
- Recommend and monitor corrective actions for identified issues.
- Ensure that all inspection activities comply with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper records of inspection activities and submit reports within the required timelines.
- Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and calibration of inspection equipment.
- Travel to different client locations/sites as required for inspection assignments.
Requirements & Skills
- Mandatory: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- ITI candidates are not eligible.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in inspection, quality control, engineering inspection, or a related field.
- This is a 100% field-based job involving regular site visits.
- Candidate must have a valid driving licence and own a bike/two-wheeler.
- Strong understanding of inspection procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Good knowledge of measuring and inspection instruments.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Good analytical, observational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Basic to good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and data entry.
- Ability to independently handle field inspections and prepare accurate reports.
- Willingness to travel across assigned locations.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in crane inspection, machinery inspection, material inspection, structural inspection, equipment inspection, or quality control will be preferred.
Candidate Location
Candidates from South Bombay and nearby areas will be preferred, as the role involves regular travel across Mumbai's Western Line and different client/site locations.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
