The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across the end-to-end data engineering lifecycle, including data ingestion, transformation, data modelling, and data warehousing, along with the ability to develop robust self-service data products.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders and Data Analysts to gather and translate data requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Perform ad hoc data analysis and transformation using tools such as Databricks, MS Fabric, or Synapse Analytics
- Design and implement metadata-driven data ingestion frameworks using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS Fabric, or Synapse
- Build, optimize, and maintain on-premises SQL Data Warehouse solutions
- Develop and manage business-focused, high-quality data products to support decision-making
- Design, build, and maintain Azure Analysis Services cubes for reporting and analytics
- Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams to ensure adherence to best practices in coding, deployment, and infrastructure
- Work closely with Data Engineering Lead, Data Domain Lead, and Architects to continuously improve engineering standards and practices
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation and promote engineering excellence
- Actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the data and engineering community
- Collaborate with squad leaders, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on strategy and delivery
Core Skills & Qualifications
- 7–10 years of proven experience in Data Engineering or related roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and ADLS Gen2
- Proficiency in SQL Server and SSIS with extensive hands-on development experience
- Experience with source control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps
- Expertise in designing and deploying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures such as Lakehouse and Medallion architecture
- Solid knowledge of data warehouse design principles, including Star and Snowflake schemas
