Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development
- Create user-friendly, responsive interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency across devices.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement design specifications from tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Build and maintain UI components that work within both legacy (jQuery, PHP-based) and modern (React/Angular/Vue.js) codebases.
2. Coding
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Work with jQuery and PHP as needed for existing web properties.
- Integrate RESTful APIs (JSON) and handle data fetching, state management, and error handling.
- Utilize MySQL for basic database queries, data rendering, or light backend tasks when required.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and SEO.
3. Testing and Debugging
- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve UI/UX.
- Identify and fix UI bugs using browser dev tools and testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Chai).
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
4. Collaboration
- Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and services (Node.js/Express.js environment).
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and insurance domain experts to understand requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
5. Documentation
- Maintain documentation for UI components, design patterns, and API integration flows.
6. Stay Updated
- Keep up with the latest trends in UI/UX, front-end technologies, and Progressive Web Apps (PWA).
Qualifications:
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Experience
- Proven experience as a UI Engineer, Front-End Developer, or similar role (1 year preferred).
- Portfolio demonstrating UI design and development skills, including work with legacy and modern stacks.
- Experience in the insurance or fintech domain is a strong plus.
3. Technical Skills (Mandatory)
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Strong experience with at least one modern framework: React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Working knowledge of jQuery and PHP
- MySQL – ability to write basic to intermediate queries, understand database relationships, and use MySQL for data rendering or simple backend tasks.
- RESTful API integration.
- Version control: Git.
4. Additional Technical Skills (Highly Desirable)
- TypeScript.
- Node.js / Express.js (to collaborate effectively with backend teams).
- Testing frameworks: Jest, Mocha, Chai.
- Progressive Web App (PWA) development.
- Familiarity with Apache server environment.
6. Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, resource-augmentation model.
7. Other Requirements
- Knowledge of responsive design principles.
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) – optional but preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
