Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience Required: 5–8 Years
Role Objective
As a Senior Manager – Business Development, you will be responsible for driving business growth in the renewable energy sector by identifying new opportunities, developing techno-commercial proposals, managing client relationships, and leading strategic business development initiatives. The role requires strong knowledge of Open Access regulations, renewable energy solutions, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project acquisition and execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesOpen Access Knowledge
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of Open Access regulations, including Captive, Group Captive, and Third-Party models for the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector.
- Stay updated with renewable energy policies, regulatory changes, and industry trends to support business growth.
Techno-Commercial Proposal Development
- Prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals for Solar, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), Hybrid, and other renewable energy projects.
- Develop case studies, cost estimations, renewable energy capacity assessments, and financial models.
- Coordinate with technical and engineering teams to prepare technical specifications and project execution plans.
Lead Generation & Relationship Management
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key clients, consultants, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Generate new business leads and convert opportunities into long-term business partnerships.
- Identify new markets and expand the company's presence within the renewable energy sector.
Business Development Strategy
- Develop and implement long-term business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with senior management to achieve revenue targets and business expansion objectives.
Tender Management & Opportunity Tracking
- Analyze tender documents and prepare detailed tender summaries.
- Identify upcoming tenders, business opportunities, and market trends.
- Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to secure new business opportunities.
MIS & Reporting
- Maintain and update MIS related to business development activities, proposals, and project status.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for management.
- Analyze business performance metrics and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with business development, design, engineering, procurement, and project execution teams.
- Ensure smooth transition of projects from proposal stage to execution.
- Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and internal communication.
Leadership & Client Engagement
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and business discussions.
- Present the company's capabilities, solutions, and project portfolio.
- Mentor and guide team members to achieve departmental objectives and business targets.
Site Visits
- Conduct site visits with design and technical teams to assess project feasibility and understand client requirements.
- Provide technical and commercial support during project development.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Renewable Energy, Business Development, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of Open Access regulations, renewable energy policies, and the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector.
- Excellent proposal writing, techno-commercial analysis, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and business reporting tools.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and project site visits.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Business Development, Project Management, or Sales within the renewable energy industry.
- Prior experience in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, Open Access, or Energy Efficiency projects is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in handling Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector projects.
- Hands-on knowledge of Captive, Group Captive, and Third-Party Open Access models.
- Experience in proposal preparation, tender management, and project development.
