Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical maintenance operations across the university campus, including academic blocks, administrative buildings, hostels, residential areas and other facilities.
- Plan and supervise preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, DG sets, electrical panels, UPS, batteries, generators and power distribution systems.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC electrical systems, lifts/elevators, lighting systems, emergency power systems and other electrical installations.
- Conduct regular inspections and identify potential electrical faults, breakdowns and safety risks, ensuring timely corrective action.
- Prepare and monitor annual maintenance plans, budgets, BOQs and project schedules for electrical works.
- Supervise electrical contractors, vendors, technicians and maintenance teams and monitor their performance.
- Review technical proposals, estimates, BOQs, quotations and work completion reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards, statutory requirements and relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with Electrical Inspectors, DISCOMs, contractors and other statutory authorities, wherever required.
- Ensure proper implementation of electrical safety protocols, earthing, lightning protection, fire safety interfaces and emergency power systems.
- Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost optimisation.
- Handle major electrical breakdowns and emergency situations and ensure minimum downtime.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, energy consumption, AMC contracts, equipment history and spare inventory.
- Manage and monitor AMC/CMC contracts for electrical equipment and systems.
- Coordinate closely with Civil, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire & Safety, Security and other Facility Management teams for integrated campus operations.
- Prepare regular maintenance and performance reports for senior management.
- Lead and guide a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, technicians and support staff.
Qualification
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience
12+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Building/Facility Maintenance, Institutional/University Campus, Commercial Buildings, Large Residential Complexes, Hospitals, Hotels, or other large-scale facilities.
Mandatory Requirement: Hands-on experience in Building/Facility Electrical Maintenance is mandatory. Candidates with experience limited to electrical project execution/construction without significant facility maintenance experience may not be considered.
Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
