Core Technical Skills
Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages like Python and SQL is essential for automation, data manipulation, and querying databases. Knowledge of Java or Scala may be needed for big data frameworks.
Database Management: Expertise in both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is crucial for managing diverse data storage solutions.
ETL/ELT Processes: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) tools and techniques to integrate performance data from disparate sources.
Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data frameworks like Apache Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka for handling and processing massive datasets, especially in large enterprise environments.
Cloud Platforms: Experience with major cloud services such as AWS (S3, Redshift), Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow), or Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Data Factory), as most modern data systems are cloud-based.
Data Modeling and Architecture: Ability to design efficient database schemas, understand data normalization, and architect scalable and reliable data platforms (data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses).
Workflow Orchestration: Experience with tools like Apache Airflow to schedule, monitor, and manage complex data pipelines and automated workflows
