Summary:
As a Bioinformatician, you possess strong expertise in Life Sciences R&D, specializing in the design, development, and optimization of genomics and multi-omics data analysis pipelines. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional scientific and clinical teams to translate complex biological questions into scalable, reproducible computational solutions. Experienced in delivering high-quality analyses across the project lifecycle, encompassing data processing, variant interpretation, and insight generation to support translational research and clinical decision-making. Adept at leveraging programming (Python/R), Linux environments, and public biological databases to build robust analytical workflows, with a strong focus on data quality, reproducibility, and scientific validity.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for genomics and multi-omics datasets (WGS, WES, RNA-seq, methylation, etc.).
- Perform end-to-end data processing including quality control, alignment, variant calling, annotation, and downstream statistical analysis.
- Interpret genomic variants and biological signals to generate meaningful insights for research and clinical applications.
- Develop, automate, and maintain analytical workflows using Python, R, and shell scripting in Linux-based environments.
- Integrate heterogeneous datasets using public repositories (e.g., ClinVar, dbSNP, Ensembl, GeneCards, etc.) to enrich analysis.
- Collaborate closely with biologists, clinicians, and data scientists to align analytical outputs with study objectives.
- Generate high-quality reports, visualizations, and stakeholder-ready summaries ensuring clarity and scientific accuracy.
- Ensure reproducibility and traceability through proper documentation, version control, and adherence to best practices.
- Leverage cloud/HPC environments and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake) for scalable analysis.
- Operate independently as a subject matter expert while contributing actively to technical discussions and problem-solving.
- Drive continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and development of reusable assets and best practices.
Professional & Technical Skills
- Life Sciences R&D Expertise: Strong foundation in genomics, molecular biology, and translational research workflows.
- Bioinformatics Analysis: Deep experience in variant discovery, annotation, prioritization, and pathway-level interpretation.
- Programming & Tools: Proficient in Python, R, Bash experienced in Linux/Unix environments and workflow automation.
- Data Analysis & Statistics: Ability to analyze complex biological datasets and apply appropriate statistical methodologies.
- Clinical & Research Context: Understanding of clinical trial processes, biomarker discovery, and precision medicine applications.
- Data Integration: Hands-on experience with public genomic/clinical databases and multi-omics data integration.
- Visualization & Reporting: Skilled in generating interpretable visualizations and scientific reports for diverse stakeholders.
- Scalability & Infrastructure: Exposure to cloud platforms and HPC systems for large-scale data processing.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
