JOB DESCRIPTION ( ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER – SOLIDWORKS)
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop 2D electrical schematics and wiring diagrams based on engineering requirements.
2. Use SolidWorks Electrical and Routing modules to route wires, cables, and harnesses through complex 3D mechanical assemblies.
3. Create and manage standardized electrical component libraries, including symbols, manufacturer parts, connectors, and backshells.
4. Synchronize ECAD (Electrical) and MCAD (Mechanical) data to determine accurate wire lengths and prevent interference with mechanical parts before physical prototypes are built.
5. Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable schedules, terminal layouts, and automated 2D harness flatten drawings.
6. Ensure designs meet relevant electrical, safety, and industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, or automotive/aviation guidelines).
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
2. Proven hands-on experience with SolidWorks Electrical 2D/3D and SolidWorks Routing.
3. Strong understanding of AC/DC power distribution, wiring systems, electrical components, and control panels.
4. Ability to work closely with mechanical design teams and manufacturing floor technicians to resolve design constraints.
5. High proficiency in managing version control, design revisions, and highly detailed technical documentation.
