Job Summary
The Production Head will be responsible for planning, managing, and controlling the entire production process of the glass processing facility. The role requires ensuring optimum productivity, quality compliance, cost control, manpower management, and timely delivery of finished products while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Oversee and manage complete production operations including:
- Glass Cutting
- Pre-Processing
- Tempering
- Double Glazed Units (DGU)
- Insulated Glass Units (IGU)
- Laminated Glass Production (if applicable)
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to meet customer delivery schedules.
- Monitor production targets and ensure maximum machine utilization and productivity.
- Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch departments for smooth operations.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise production supervisors, operators, and shop-floor personnel.
- Allocate manpower effectively across different production sections.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training for skill enhancement.
- Maintain discipline and promote a positive work culture.
Quality Control
- Ensure production processes comply with company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department to minimize rejection, rework, and wastage.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
Process Improvement & Cost Control
- Identify opportunities for productivity enhancement and process optimization.
- Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Control production costs while maintaining quality standards.
Maintenance Coordination
- Work closely with the Maintenance Department to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Minimize machine downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote safe working practices throughout the production facility.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and corrective actions.
