Role Expectations
- Prepare the monthly payroll for approval
- Prepare and/or update the various changes for the employee pay affecting payroll on a monthly basis according to company policy and proper approval level
- Prepare and submit tax and third party payments
- Accurately process payroll for all employees including timesheet verification & tax setup
- Process employee changes including new hires, reviews, status changes, transfers and terminations
- Compute wages and deductions, and enter data into computers
- Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to m maintain and update payroll records
- Process payroll cycles for time worked, overtime, and miscellaneous pay types
- Maintain vacation and other time off data and enter into payroll system
- Answer employee questions, investigate and correct discrepancies
Responsibilities
- Providing information and answering Tier 1 queries related to payroll inputs
- Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Preparing and issuing earnings statements.
- Maintaining employee records.
- Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.
Competencies
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of payroll processes including data entry, pay calculations, tax and benefits
- Experience in processing Payroll using AscentHR payroll software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
- Able to handle volumes, prioritize and multitask effectively.
- 3-4 years of experience working in a payroll office.
