Job Description: Design Engineer
Experience : 3 to 5 years
Role Objective
The Design Engineer is responsible for creating detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and structural calculations for FRP/GRP products such as gratings, handrails, cable trays, and custom structural profiles. You will ensure that designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and compliant with international engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Modeling: Prepare 2D layout drawings and 3D models using software like AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Structural Analysis: Perform load calculations and stress analysis to ensure FRP structures can withstand specific environmental and physical weights (using STAAD.Pro or similar tools).
- BOM Preparation: Create an accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications for the production team.
- Product Development: Assist in the R&D of new composite profiles and suggest improvements to existing product designs to enhance durability.
- Technical Support: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to provide technical drawings for client proposals and tenders.
- Standard Compliance: Ensure all designs meet global standards such as ASTM, BS, and ISO specifically related to composite materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- Software Proficiency:
- Expertise in AutoCAD (2D) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Catia, or STAAD.Pro is highly preferred.
- Experience: 1–4 years in engineering design.
- Experience in the Steel Fabrication or Composite Industry is a massive advantage.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of "Strength of Materials" and structural mechanics.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes (cutting, drilling, and joining of structural members).
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
