About FD Design
FD Design is a multidisciplinary architecture and interior design practice based in Naraina Vihar, New Delhi. Established in 2000, the firm works across premium residences, housing developments, hospitality, commercial projects and experience-led spaces.
We are looking for an architect with relevant experience in housing, hospitality or large residential projects. The role requires a balance of design ability, planning, drawing coordination and project follow-up.
Candidates do not need to be equally strong in every area, but should have worked on meaningful architectural projects and should be willing to take responsibility as part of a growing design practice.
Job Description
The architect will work on the planning, design development and coordination of housing, hospitality and residential projects.
The role may involve concept development, layouts, presentations, working drawings, consultant coordination, client inputs and project documentation, depending on the candidate’s experience and capability.
Key Responsibilities and KRAs
1. Design and Planning
- Assist in the planning and design of housing, hospitality and residential projects
- Develop site layouts, building plans, circulation systems and spatial concepts
- Prepare design options based on project requirements, site conditions and applicable regulations
- Contribute to the architectural character and overall experience of the project
- Translate discussions and design intent into clear drawings and presentations
2. Design Development
- Develop approved concepts into coordinated architectural drawings
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections and area statements
- Coordinate architectural requirements with structure, services, landscape and interiors
- Assist in resolving planning, functional and technical issues
- Review drawings for consistency and completeness
3. Working Drawings and Documentation
- Prepare or coordinate architectural working drawings
- Develop plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules
- Incorporate structural and service requirements into architectural drawings
- Maintain drawing revisions and project documentation
- Ensure that drawings issued for execution are clear and properly coordinated
4. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape and other project consultants
- Follow up on drawings, inputs and technical decisions
- Participate in project review meetings
- Assist in tracking pending drawings, decisions and consultant information
- Coordinate with the internal design and interior teams wherever required
5. Client and Presentation Support
- Assist in preparing design presentations and project reports
- Participate in client meetings along with the principals and project team
- Record design inputs and incorporate approved decisions into the project
- Present planning and design ideas clearly when required
6. Site and Execution Support
- Visit project sites when required
- Review architectural work with reference to approved drawings
- Assist in resolving site-related design and coordination issues
- Coordinate revisions arising from site conditions
- Support the project team during important execution stages
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- Approximately 3 to 8 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in housing, hospitality, group housing, resorts, hotels, large residences or similar projects
- Sound understanding of architectural planning and design development
- Experience in preparing architectural drawings and presentations
- Working knowledge of building services and consultant coordination
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of SketchUp
- Knowledge of Revit will be considered an advantage
- Working knowledge of presentation software
- Basic understanding of building regulations, area calculations and approval requirements
- Ability to manage multiple drawings and project requirements
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Willingness to learn, take responsibility and work as part of a team

Compensation
₹40,000 to ₹60,000 per month, depending on experience, design capability, technical knowledge and performance in the selection process.
