Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Gemstone Assorter to evaluate, classify, and sort gemstones based on their quality, size, color, shape, and other characteristics ( Semi- Precious Stone) The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of gemology and experience working with precious and semi-precious stones. This role is essential in ensuring quality standards are met for jewelry manufacturing or resale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and sort gemstones according to shape, size, clarity, cut, and color ( Semi- Precious Stone).
- Identify different types of gemstones using gemological tools and techniques.
- Classify stones based on internal grading systems or customer requirements.
- Detect flaws, inclusions, or irregularities that affect the value of stones.
- Match gemstones for consistency in color and size for sets or jewelry pieces.
- Maintain records and inventory of sorted gemstones.
- Collaborate with gemologists, jewelers, designers, or procurement teams.
- Follow safety and handling procedures for delicate or high-value stones.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in gemology (e.g., GIA, IGI) preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in gemstone sorting, quality control, or jewelry manufacturing.
- Excellent vision and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with gemstone types, properties, and valuation factors.
- Manual dexterity and precision handling small objects.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with colored gemstones ( Semi- Precious Stone) .
- Use of gemological tools such as loupe, microscope, and spectroscope.
- Knowledge of industry grading systems (GIA, AGS, etc.).
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
