About the Role
We are looking for a versatile Full Stack Developer who can independently build and maintain a native Android application along with its backend infrastructure. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across mobile development, server-side APIs, real-time communication, cloud databases, and the regulatory/compliance registrations required for SMS and messaging services in production (India-specific telecom and business messaging compliance).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Java/Kotlin in Android Studio, and publish/manage APK releases.
- Build and maintain REST APIs and WebSocket services using Node.js for real-time and request-response communication between the app and backend.
- Design and manage data models in Firestore (NoSQL), ensuring efficient queries, indexing, and security rules.
- Implement push notification workflows using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Integrate SMS-based OTP/authentication flows using Fast2SMS (or similar) for test/staging environments, and transition to production-grade SMS gateways where required.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain backend services on a Hostinger VPS (Linux), including server hardening, process management (PM2/systemd), reverse proxy (Nginx), and SSL setup.
- Handle DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) registration with telecom operators for SMS sender IDs and content templates, ensuring compliance with TRAI regulations.
- Manage Meta Business Registration/Verification for WhatsApp Business API / Facebook integrations, including business verification and messaging template approvals.
- Support additional OT (Over-the-Top) / regulatory service registrations as applicable (e.g., WhatsApp Business API provider onboarding, RCS registration, email/SMS sender authentication such as SPF/DKIM, other telecom or platform compliance requirements).
- Monitor application performance, debug production issues, and implement fixes across mobile and backend layers.
- Maintain API documentation, deployment runbooks, and coordinate with QA/product teams for releases.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Kotlin for native Android development.
- Proficiency with Android Studio, Gradle build system, and Play Store/APK release processes.
- Solid experience building REST APIs and WebSocket servers in Node.js (Express or similar framework).
- Practical experience with Firestore or other NoSQL databases (data modeling, security rules, real-time listeners).
- Experience integrating Firebase services, particularly FCM for push notifications.
- Familiarity with SMS gateway integrations (e.g., Fast2SMS) for OTP/authentication flows.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on Linux-based VPS environments (Hostinger, DigitalOcean, AWS EC2, or similar).
- Understanding of DLT registration process for SMS compliance in India.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite / WhatsApp Business API registration and verification process.
- Basic understanding of server security, SSL certificates, and domain/DNS management.
- Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows.
Good to Have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile and backend deployments.
- Knowledge of payment gateway integrations (Razorpay, PayU, etc.).
- Experience with WhatsApp Business API (Cloud API or on-premise) beyond basic registration.
- Familiarity with app store compliance (Google Play policies, data safety forms).
- Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, or other modern Android toolkits.
- Basic DevOps knowledge (Nginx, PM2, Docker).
Soft Skills
- Ability to work independently across the full stack (mobile + backend + deployment).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially around compliance/regulatory tasks.
- Good communication skills to coordinate registrations and approvals with external platforms (Meta, telecom operators).
