Job Description: Purchase Head
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchase Head to manage procurement activities and build strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing products, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality goods to meet business needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
Experience
Minimum experience 5 yrs and Maximum 10 yrs
Preferred Criteria:
· Proven experience as Head of Purchase / Purchase Manager
· Strong leadership and decision-making skills
· Experience in procurement planning and vendor development
· Ability to handle purchase operations independently
Key Responsibilities
· Vendor Research and Evaluation: Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, analysing pricing, quality, and delivery capabilities to make informed procurement decisions.
· Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable agreements.
· Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to foster long-term partnerships.
· Order Tracking and Management: Monitor purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
· Quality Review: Inspect and review the quality of purchased goods to ensure they meet required standards and specifications.
· Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed procurement reports, maintain accurate records, and summarize purchasing data for management review.
Key Skills and Qualifications
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
· Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favourable terms and manage contract agreements.
· Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate vendor options, pricing structures, and cost-saving opportunities.
· Decision-Making: Sound decision-making capabilities to select appropriate vendors and manage procurement risks.
· Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in orders, contracts, and documentation.
· Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple procurement tasks efficiently.
· Proficiency in Tools: Familiarity with procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and spreadsheet tools is a plus.
Educational and Professional Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
· Proven experience as a Purchase Executive, Procurement Officer, or in a similar role.
· Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques and vendor management.
