Receptionist — Billing Executive

Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Billing Executive for a hospital front office to manage patient billing, insurance coordination, and revenue cycle tasks. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate invoicing, timely collections, and smooth coordination between clinical, billing, and insurance teams while maintaining patient confidentiality and professional communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Billing & Invoicing — Generate accurate bills for outpatient and inpatient services; prepare estimates and final invoices; apply tariffs, discounts, and package rates correctly.
- Insurance & TPA Coordination — Verify patient insurance/TPA details, obtain pre‑authorizations, submit claims, follow up on claim status, and reconcile claim settlements.
- Payment Processing — Receive and record cash, card, and online payments; issue receipts; reconcile daily cash and payment reports.
- Billing Reconciliation — Reconcile billing records with clinical notes, pharmacy, lab and radiology charges; identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Claims Follow‑up & Denial Management — Track pending claims, respond to insurer queries, manage denials and resubmissions, and escalate unresolved issues.
- Record Maintenance — Maintain accurate billing files, patient ledgers, and electronic billing records; ensure proper documentation for audits.
- Reporting — Prepare daily/weekly/monthly billing reports, outstanding receivables reports, and revenue summaries for management.
- Customer Service — Explain bills and payment options to patients and families professionally; handle billing queries and disputes with empathy and clarity.
- Compliance & Confidentiality — Adhere to hospital billing policies, regulatory requirements, and patient data confidentiality standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: 12th pass or graduate; diploma/certificate in accounting, finance, or hospital administration preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years in hospital billing, medical billing, or healthcare accounts preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with billing software/HMS, MS Excel (basic formulas, filters), and POS/payment terminals.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance/TPA processes, claim formats, and common payer rules.
- Attributes: Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, good communication skills, patient‑centric attitude, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Other: Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and coordinate with multiple departments.

- Billing accuracy rate and error reduction.
- Timeliness of claim submissions and average claim settlement time.
- Outstanding receivables and collection efficiency.
- Patient query resolution time and satisfaction with billing interactions.
- Daily cash reconciliation accuracy.
