Job Summary
We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer with strong knowledge of polymers and plastic processing. The candidate will provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams, troubleshoot material and process-related issues, support manufacturing operations, and actively contribute to business growth by identifying new customer opportunities and promoting the company's products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide industrial technical support related to polymer materials and plastic processing.
- Support customers and internal teams with TPE, TPR, TPV, TPU, Masterbatch, polymer compounds, and their applications.
- Assist in production support activities including product trials, process optimization, and defect analysis.
- Troubleshoot issues related to injection moulding and excuration moulding plastic processing.
- Support installation, setup, and operation of polymer and plastic processing machinery.
- Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams to ensure consistent product performance.
- Prepare technical reports, trial feedback, application reports, and technical documentation.
- Visit customer sites to resolve technical, processing, and application-related issues.
- Conduct product demonstrations and assist customers in selecting suitable polymer solutions.
- Work closely with the Sales team to provide technical support during customer meetings and product presentations.
- Identify new business opportunities through customer visits, market interactions, and industry networking.
- Generate and develop new customer leads, maintain relationships with existing customers, and support business expansion initiatives.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable polymer compounds and customized solutions.
- Coordinate with the Business Development and Sales teams to convert technical discussions into commercial opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor products, and customer requirements to identify potential growth areas.
- Prepare visit reports and regularly update customer interactions and business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of TPE, TPR, TPV, TPU, Masterbatch, polymer compounds, and plastic raw materials.
- Good understanding of the polymer industry and plastic processing techniques.
- Hands-on knowledge of Injection Moulding, Excuration Moulding processes and machinery.
- Familiarity with polymer compounding and plastic processing equipment.
- Ability to analyze material and processing problems and recommend practical solutions.
- Basic understanding of technical sales and business development activities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.
- Ability to negotiate and build long-term customer relationships.
- Willingness to travel extensively for customer visits, technical support, and business development activities.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Polymer Engineering, Plastic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in polymer manufacturing, compounding, technical service, plastic processing, or business development within the polymer industry will be preferred.
- Customer-focused with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of handling both technical support and customer development responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
