Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC machining programs for VMC and CNC Turning machines. The candidate should have strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, drawing interpretation, and production optimization to ensure quality and productivity targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify CNC programs for VMC and CNC Turning machines (Fanuc Control).
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Develop machining strategies to improve cycle time and productivity.
- Conduct prove-out and validation of new programs on machines.
- Optimize existing programs to reduce machining time and improve quality.
- Support CNC setters and operators during production.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to programming, tooling, and fixtures.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and dimensional requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Tool Room teams for process improvements.
- Prepare and maintain process sheets, setup instructions, and program records.
- Participate in rejection analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure compliance with safety and manufacturing procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC Programming for VMC and CNC Turning machines.
- Experience with Fanuc Controls.
- Proficiency in G-Code and M-Code programming.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidCAM, NX CAM, or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Understanding of cutting tools, tool life management, and machining parameters.
- Knowledge of fixture design and work holding methods.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in precision machining and component manufacturing.
- Knowledge of cycle time reduction techniques.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.
- Exposure to ERP systems and production documentation.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Program accuracy and first-pass approval rate.
- Cycle time reduction and productivity improvement.
- Reduction in machining rejections.
- On-time completion of new program development.
- Tool cost optimization and machine utilization improvement.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing shop floor environment.
- Coordination with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.
- May be required to support multiple shifts during new product development and critical production requirements.
