Supply Chain Management (SCM)
- Material Planning & Procurement: Oversee material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials for production. Collaborate with suppliers to maintain steady material flow and minimize disruptions.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Conduct regular stock reviews and adjust inventory levels to meet production needs without overstocking.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely, quality delivery of materials and parts. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and mitigate risks.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee logistics operations for inbound materials and outgoing shipments. Ensure that materials are delivered to the production floor on time and that finished goods are shipped to customers or other facilities as required.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for improving the efficiency of the end-to-end supply chain, including reducing lead times, cutting costs, and improving delivery reliability.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all supply chain and production processes adhere to industry-specific regulations (e.g., ITAR, AS9100, DFARS) and maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
- Collaboration with Engineering & Quality: Work closely with the engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure production processes align with design specifications and quality standards. Participate in design reviews and help resolve any technical challenges during production.
- Customer Communication: Collaborate with the customer service and sales teams to provide updates on order status, delivery schedules, and any potential issues related to production or supply chain disruptions.
- Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate risks within the production and supply chain processes, such as material shortages, production delays, or transportation disruptions. Implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure contingency plans are in place.
- Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in root cause analysis of issues impacting production and supply chain efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance performance.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding production performance, inventory levels, material procurement, and overall supply chain performance.
