Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all production activities to ensure timely delivery, superior product quality, optimum productivity, and effective utilization of manpower and resources. The role focuses on achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Control
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders.
- Allocate work efficiently across departments and monitor production schedules.
- Ensure on-time completion of orders as per committed delivery dates.
- Monitor production capacity and optimize resource utilization.
2. Production Operations
- Supervise all manufacturing processes, including casting, die, CNC, filing, assembly, soldering, polishing and finishing.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Resolve production issues promptly to avoid delays.
3. Quality Management
- Ensure products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications.
- Monitor First Time Acceptance (FTA) and implement corrective actions to reduce rework.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team for continuous quality improvement.
5. Delivery Management
- Coordinate with Planning, Stores, and Dispatch to achieve customer delivery commitments.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Ensure priority orders are completed on schedule.
6. Inventory & Material Control
- Monitor availability of raw materials, consumables, and production tools.
- Coordinate with Stores for timely material issuance.
- Control excess inventory and improve inventory turnover.
7. Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and supervise production supervisors and operators.
- Conduct daily production review meetings.
- Identify training needs and support employee skill development.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and productivity.
- Submitting various types of report from production department an timely submission to management and HR.
8. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle time, and minimize production costs.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Standardize production processes to improve efficiency.
9. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure statutory and internal compliance requirements are followed.
10. Reporting
- Prepare daily production reports and management dashboards.
- Analyze production efficiency, rejection, rework, delivery performance, and productivity.
- Present improvement plans to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in manufacturing company.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
