Role Overview
As an Immigration Case Officer, you will support Registered Migration Agents by managing visa applications from initial consultation through to lodgement and decision. You will work closely with clients, educational institutions, employers, and government departments to ensure applications are accurate, compliant, and submitted on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Registered Migration Agents with preparing and lodging Australian visa applications.
- Collect, review, and verify client documentation to ensure compliance with Department of Home Affairs requirements.
- Prepare visa application forms, supporting documents, and submission packages.
- Maintain accurate electronic client records and case management files.
- Follow up with clients regarding outstanding documentation and application requirements.
- Provide regular updates to clients regarding application progress, processing times, and next steps.
- Liaise with educational institutions, employers, skills assessment authorities, and government agencies where required.
- Draft correspondence, statutory declarations, invitation letters, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all applications comply with current Australian migration legislation and internal procedures.
- Manage multiple client files while meeting strict deadlines.
- Assist with administrative tasks, appointment scheduling, and CRM updates.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- 0–3 years of experience in migration services, education consulting, customer service, administration, legal services, recruitment, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems.
- Professional attitude with a willingness to learn Australian migration legislation and procedures.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience with Australian migration or international education services.
- Knowledge of Australian visa subclasses and Department of Home Affairs procedures.
- Experience using migration case management or CRM software.
- Familiarity with ImmiAccount, VEVO, or education provider systems.
- Understanding of MARA Code of Conduct and Australian migration processes (preferred but not essential).
