Job Description – Security Officer
Position: Security Officer

Job Purpose
To ensure the overall security and safety of the plant, employees, materials, machinery, vehicles, and premises by effectively managing security guards, gate operations, surveillance, access control, and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Guard Management
- Supervise and manage all security guards across shifts.
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure proper manpower deployment.
- Monitor guard attendance, discipline, uniform, and performance.
- Conduct regular briefing and security meetings.
- Gate & Access Control
- Control entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles.
- Verify employee ID cards and visitor authorization.
- Maintain visitor, vehicle, and material movement registers.
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
- Material & Vehicle Security
- Verify gate passes for raw materials, finished goods, scrap, tools, and other materials.
- Check vehicles entering and leaving the plant.
- Coordinate with Stores, Dispatch, Purchase, and Production for material movement.
- Prevent unauthorized removal of company property.
- CCTV & Surveillance
- Monitor CCTV cameras and security control room activities.
- Ensure critical areas are properly covered by CCTV.
- Report suspicious activities immediately.
- Maintain records of security incidents and CCTV-related observations.
- Plant Security
- Conduct regular security rounds of the plant, warehouse, boundary, parking, and other critical areas.
- Check boundary walls, gates, lighting, locks, and restricted areas.
- Identify and report security risks.
- Incident & Emergency Management
- Respond immediately to theft, fire, accident, unauthorized entry, fights, or other emergencies.
- Coordinate with the Fire & Safety team during emergencies.
- Inform Plant Head/Admin/HR about major incidents.
- Prepare incident reports and support investigations.
- Contractor & Visitor Management
- Ensure proper authorization and identification of contractors and visitors.
- Monitor contractor movement inside the plant.
- Ensure visitors follow plant safety and security rules.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with HR, Admin, Production, Stores, Dispatch, Maintenance, and EHS/Safety departments.
- Coordinate with police, fire department, or other external agencies when required.
- Security Documentation
- Maintain security registers, incident reports, gate passes, vehicle records, visitor records, and shift handover reports.
- Submit daily/weekly security reports to management.
Required Skills & Qualification
- Graduate preferred; ex-serviceman/security experience will be an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing security preferred.
- Experience in handling multiple security guards and shifts.
- Good knowledge of CCTV, access control, gate management, fire/emergency response and industrial security.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
- Basic computer knowledge, MS Excel and report preparation.
- Strong discipline, alertness, integrity, and decision-making ability.
