Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Sewing Line Incharge to oversee daily operations of a garment sewing line. The Sewing Line Incharge will be responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved while maintaining efficient workflow and operator productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of sewing operators on the production line.
- Ensure production targets are achieved according to the approved production plan.
- Monitor line efficiency, output, and operator performance.
- Allocate work among operators based on skills and production requirements.
- Ensure garments are produced according to approved quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, machine issues, and workflow disruptions.
- Coordinate with Quality Control, Cutting, Finishing, and Maintenance departments to maintain smooth production flow.
- Conduct line balancing to maximize productivity and minimize idle time.
- Train and guide sewing operators on proper sewing methods and quality requirements.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and workplace safety within the line.
- Ensure proper handling of materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished garments.
- Maintain daily production records and submit reports to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement and productivity enhancement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in garment manufacturing is an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in garment sewing operations, including supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing processes, and production flow.
- Ability to manage and motivate production teams.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Basic understanding of production targets, line balancing, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in woven, knitwear, or apparel manufacturing.
- Knowledge of SMV (Standard Minute Value) and productivity measurement.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.
- Basic computer skills for production reporting.
