About the Role
We are looking for a *Business Development Engineer* to generate new business opportunities for our industrial automation solutions. The role is primarily field-oriented, with a strong focus on *industrial/site visits, lead generation, customer meetings, and sales conversion*.
Key Responsibilities
Generate new leads through regular *industrial and site visits* across Chennai and nearby industrial areas.
Identify potential customers and understand their automation, electrical, and engineering requirements.
Meet with *maintenance, electrical, automation, production, engineering, and procurement teams*.
Develop new customer relationships and expand the existing customer base.
Generate enquiries through field visits, cold calling, LinkedIn, email, references, and networking.
Promote *PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFDs, control panels, MCC panels, retrofit, commissioning, and automation services*.
Coordinate with the technical team to develop suitable solutions and quotations.
Follow up on enquiries and quotations and convert opportunities into orders.
Maintain a proper sales pipeline and report customer visits, leads, enquiries, and opportunities.
Achieve assigned monthly and annual sales targets.
Requirements
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in *Electrical, Electronics, E&I, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields*.
1–3 years of experience* in industrial sales, automation, electrical products, or technical business development.* Basic understanding of industrial automation products and systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong field-sales and customer relationship skills.
Willingness to travel for regular industrial visits.
Target-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated.
Valid driving licence preferred
