We are seeking a high-impact Senior Database Engineer to serve as a technical anchor for our hybrid database ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional enterprise powerhouses and modern cloud-native solutions, overseeing the architecture, performance, and reliability of our Oracle and PostgreSQL environments. You will be instrumental in our transition toward AWS-managed services while ensuring our legacy systems remain high-performing and secure.

As a dual-stack expert, you will directly influence the scalability of our financial data platforms. Your mission is to eliminate technical silos by harmonizing our Oracle and Postgres strategies, driving cost efficiencies on AWS, and mentoring the next generation of multi-stack DBAs.
Key Responsibilities

Multi-Platform Governance: Lead the end-to-end administration of Oracle (12c/19c) and PostgreSQL (14/15/16) across on-prem and AWS environments (RDS, Aurora, and EC2).

Cloud Architecture & Migration: Drive the "Cloud-First" strategy by migrating complex Oracle workloads to PostgreSQL/Aurora using AWS DMS and SCT where applicable.

High Availability & DR: Architect robust failover strategies using Oracle Data Guard and Postgres Streaming Replication; manage Multi-AZ deployments and global read replicas.

Performance Engineering: Conduct deep-stack tuning—from SQL query optimization and indexing strategies to kernel-level parameter adjustments in both PL/SQL and PG/SQL environments.

Automation & IaC: Proactively reduce "toil" by automating routine maintenance, patching, and provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.

Security & Compliance: Implement enterprise-grade security protocols, including TDE (Transparent Data Encryption), IAM database authentication, and rigorous auditing standards.
What We’re Looking For (Core Competencies)

Technical Breadth: Demonstrated mastery in both Oracle and Open Source (Postgres) ecosystems. You shouldn't just know how to run them; you should understand the architectural differences in their locking mechanisms, MVCC, and memory management.

AWS Proficiency: Deep experience with AWS-native observability tools like CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and Enhanced Monitoring.

Operational Excellence: A proven track record of handling high-pressure production incidents and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) that actually prevents recurrence.

Experience: 7–12 years of professional DBA experience, with at least 3+ years in a dual-stack or migration-focused role.
