Position Summary
Veltech Forging Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Manager to lead the Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Utility Maintenance functions of our forging plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum machine availability, minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and implementing world-class maintenance practices through Preventive, Predictive, and Breakdown Maintenance strategies.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement Preventive, Predictive, and Breakdown Maintenance plans.
- Ensure maximum machine uptime and availability across all production departments.
- Monitor and reduce machine downtime through effective maintenance planning.
- Prepare Annual, Monthly, Weekly, and Daily Maintenance schedules.
- Lead shutdown planning and maintenance execution.
Equipment & Machinery Management
Maintain and oversee maintenance of:
- Forging Presses
- Power Presses
- Hammers
- Induction Heating Systems
- Heat Treatment Furnaces
- Trimming Presses
- CNC Machines
- VMC Machines
- Hydraulic Presses
- Air Compressors
- DG Sets
- Cooling Towers
- Cranes, Hoists, and Material Handling Equipment
- Utility Systems
Team Management
- Lead and supervise maintenance engineers, technicians, electricians, fitters, and contractors.
- Allocate manpower effectively.
- Conduct daily maintenance review meetings.
- Develop technical skills through coaching and training.
Reliability Improvement
- Analyze repetitive breakdowns and implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Apply TPM, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and Kaizen techniques.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance practices.
Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
- Ensure timely servicing of motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, PLCs, sensors, VFDs, and control panels.
- Oversee calibration and alignment of machinery.
- Ensure proper lubrication and maintenance records.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Maintain optimum inventory of critical spare parts.
- Plan procurement of maintenance consumables.
- Monitor maintenance costs and control expenditure.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department for timely procurement.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory safety requirements.
- Implement Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Ensure machine guards, emergency stops, and safety interlocks are functional.
- Support ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949, TPM, 5S, and other quality systems.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
Contractor Management
- Supervise AMC and maintenance contractors.
- Review contractor performance and work quality.
- Ensure contractor compliance with plant safety standards and work permits.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Maintenance Reports.
- Track KPIs including:
- Machine Availability
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
- MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
- Preventive Maintenance Compliance
- Breakdown Analysis
- Spare Parts Consumption
- Maintenance Cost
- Present maintenance performance to senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in TPM, Reliability Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Maintenance Management are preferred.
Experience
- 10–15 years of maintenance experience in Manufacturing plant.
- Minimum 10 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, PLC, and utility systems.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
