Role Summary
We are looking for a data-savvy SEO Analyst to join our marketing team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our organic growth strategy. You will analyze website performance, uncover actionable insights from complex datasets, and work cross-functionally to implement on-page and off-page optimizations. You are the "diagnostician" of the team—translating raw search data into clear strategies that increase our visibility, traffic, and conversions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor, track, and report on key SEO metrics including organic traffic, keyword rankings, click-through rates (CTR), bounce rates, and conversion rates using Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console.
- Build and maintain executive-level dashboards to provide visibility into SEO performance and ROI.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats in search performance.
- Translate raw data into compelling, easy-to-understand stories for stakeholders and leadership.
Keyword & Competitor Research
- Perform extensive keyword research to identify high-value terms, long-tail opportunities, and seasonal trends that align with business goals.
- Conduct regular competitor analysis to benchmark our performance against rivals and identify gaps in our content and backlink strategies.
- Collaborate with Paid Media (PPC) teams to align on keyword targeting strategies.
On-Page & Content Optimization
- Partner with content writers and editors to optimize existing pages and brief new content based on data-driven keyword and topic-cluster strategies.
- Perform regular site audits to identify technical issues (e.g., broken links, duplicate content, slow pages) and work with the development team to prioritize fixes.
- Optimize meta tags, header structures, internal linking, and image alt text to maximize organic relevance.
- Recommend content refreshes based on declining rankings or emerging user intent.
Off-Page & Link Building Strategy
- Support the link-building strategy by identifying authoritative websites for guest posting, digital PR, and backlink acquisition.
- Monitor the site’s backlink profile to disavow toxic links and protect domain authority.
Strategic Planning & Innovation
- Stay ahead of search engine algorithm updates (Google core updates, Helpful Content updates) and proactively adjust strategies to mitigate risk and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Experiment with emerging search trends, including AI Overviews, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and voice search.
- Provide actionable recommendations for improving user experience (UX) as a ranking factor.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in an SEO Analyst, SEO Specialist, or similar data-driven marketing role.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data visualization) and the ability to synthesize large datasets.
- Tool Proficiency: Expert-level experience with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and industry standard tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or Screaming Frog.
- Keyword Strategy: Demonstrated success in researching and mapping keywords to user journeys and purchase funnels.
- Understanding of SEO Principles: Deep knowledge of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO, even if you don't write the code yourself (you must know how to communicate technical fixes to developers).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you must be able to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
