Job Purpose
The Vice Principal supports the Principal in providing strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to ensure the smooth functioning of the school. The role focuses on maintaining high academic standards, promoting student well-being, ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening teacher performance, and fostering a safe, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership
- Assist the Principal in planning and implementing the school's academic vision and objectives.
- Monitor curriculum delivery and ensure compliance with CBSE/State Board guidelines.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Review lesson plans, assessments, and student learning outcomes.
- Analyse examination results and develop strategies for continuous academic improvement.
- Lead teacher mentoring, coaching, and professional development initiatives.
2. School Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school.
- Prepare academic calendars, timetables, examination schedules, and duty rosters.
- Ensure smooth coordination among academic and administrative departments.
- Supervise school events, assemblies, functions, and co-curricular activities.
- Support admissions, orientation programmes, and enrolment planning.
3. Staff Management
- Supervise teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training needs.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional ethics.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new employees.
4. Student Welfare & Discipline
- Maintain a safe, disciplined, and child-friendly school environment.
- Address student behavioural concerns through counselling and restorative practices.
- Ensure implementation of school discipline policies, anti-bullying measures, and student safety protocols.
- Promote student leadership, well-being, and holistic development.
- Ensure compliance with child protection requirements, including POCSO guidelines.
5. Parent & Community Engagement
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Address parent concerns professionally and promptly.
- Organise Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and parent engagement initiatives.
- Represent the school during inspections, community programmes, and official meetings.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to CBSE/State Board, RTE Act, NEP 2020, and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain academic and administrative records.
- Support school audits, inspections, accreditation processes, and documentation.
- Monitor implementation of school policies, SOPs, and safety procedures.
7. Strategic Support
- Assist the Principal in institutional planning and policy implementation.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and performance dashboards.
- Act as the Principal in their absence and ensure continuity of school operations.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in any discipline (Mandatory)
- B.Ed. (Mandatory)
- M.Ed. (Preferred)
- Certification or training in Educational Leadership/School Administration (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of teaching experience.
- At least 3–5 years in an academic leadership role such as Academic Coordinator, Headmistress, Senior Coordinator, or Vice Principal.
- Experience in CBSE-affiliated schools preferred.
Pay: From ₹100,000.00 per month
