Job Description – Primary HOD (Hindi)

Reporting To: Vice Principal / Principal
Role Summary
The Primary Head of Department (Hindi) is responsible for leading the Hindi department for Grades I–V by ensuring effective curriculum implementation, high-quality teaching standards, and continuous improvement in students' language proficiency. The HOD will mentor teachers, monitor academic delivery, and foster an engaging and joyful Hindi learning environment aligned with EuroSchool's philosophy of holistic education and experiential learning.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership
- Lead and supervise the Primary Hindi faculty.
- Ensure effective implementation of the Hindi curriculum across all primary grades.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom delivery, and assessment practices.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure curriculum delivery aligns with CBSE guidelines and EuroSchool academic standards.
2. Curriculum Planning & Development
- Prepare annual academic plans, month-wise planners, and curriculum mapping.
- Standardize worksheets, assessments, question papers, and learning resources.
- Introduce innovative teaching methodologies, storytelling, role play, projects, and activity-based learning.
- Promote language enrichment initiatives that strengthen reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
3. Team Management & Mentoring
- Mentor and coach Hindi teachers for professional growth.
- Conduct departmental meetings and subject-specific training sessions.
- Support new teachers through induction and classroom guidance.
- Foster collaboration and sharing of best teaching practices within the department.
4. Student Development
- Build strong foundational Hindi language skills among students.
- Organize Hindi-related events such as Hindi Diwas, storytelling competitions, recitation, handwriting activities, and literary celebrations.
- Monitor student performance and implement intervention strategies for learners requiring additional support.
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and appreciation for Hindi language and culture.
5. Assessment & Quality Assurance
- Review assessments to ensure consistency and quality.
- Analyze student performance data and prepare action plans for academic improvement.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus, assessments, and report card documentation.
- Maintain departmental records and support academic audits.
6. Parent & School Collaboration
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings and communicate student progress effectively.
- Coordinate with other HODs for interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
- Support school events, assemblies, exhibitions, and academic programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hindi or relevant discipline.
- Master's Degree in Hindi (preferred).
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- Minimum 5–7 years of teaching experience in Primary School.
- Prior experience as a Subject Coordinator or HOD will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
