Join our world-class Product Definition team to deliver designs and definitions for our customers. As Engineer – Product Definition, you will be responsible for delivering Product Definition scope of Gas Turbine accessory systems, while adhering to Quality and on time delivery by working in close partnership with engineering counterparts in delivering the design intents. During the execution, there is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.
A key element of this role is building and sustaining partnerships with the adjacent design engineering teams and the supply chain while innovating new solutions for advancing the technology related to gas turbines and accompanying systems.
Essential Responsibilities
- Own product definition scope for complex systems in Accessory systems in Heavy Duty Gas turbines to deliver 3D models, arrangement drawings, Bills of materials using NX.
- Ensure all interface and interference characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by the designers of adjacent systems
- Comply to established processes and standards
- Proactively and effectively communicate progress, status, risk, needed inputs and target release dates to stakeholders.
- Participate in weekly MMP and adhere to Daily Management rigor
- Apply Lean principles in daily management and strive for continuous improvement
- Utilize applicable PLM system (Enovia) to manage and issue product definition data.
- Drive improvements and approvals for gold standard CAD models, drawings, with GD&T and manufacturing best practices.
- Ensure design integrity and First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Manage concurrent Engineering processes, understand input from the different engineering disciplines, monitor progress and quality, and ensure schedule requirements are met.
- Provide design support to cross-functional teams to improve or resolve design, performance, manufacturing, supplier, or field issues.
- Assure that proper documentation of technical data, generated to substantiate the assigned components, assembly processes, and/or systems is consistent with design policies and procedures.
- Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Vernova Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
- Contribute to organizational initiatives like, Cost out, productivity, quality and continuous improvements.
- Continually learn and apply the latest techniques relative to CAD software, Data Management Systems (DMS) and MBE (Model Based Enterprise).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical and related disciplines or equivalent)
- 5 years’ of experience in design field with strong expertise in NX(Unigraphics)
- Knowledge of working with large assemblies, part and arrangement level drawing definitions
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities and assembly procedures.
- Expertise in enterprise Computer Aided Design (CAD) managed by a PLM/PDM system.
