About EXR Games
EXR Games is a dedicated Game Development Academy and Game Development company focused on building industry-ready talent and developing innovative gaming projects using Unity and Unreal Engine.
We are expanding our development team in Kochi for upcoming game projects and are looking for passionate Unity / Unreal Game Developers who can contribute to production projects while also supporting our students through technical mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement gameplay systems, mechanics, UI, tools, and other game features using Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Work on upcoming EXR Games projects from development and prototyping through testing and optimization.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using C# for Unity or C++ / Blueprints for Unreal Engine.
- Debug, profile, optimize, and resolve technical issues across game builds.
- Collaborate with designers, artists, developers, and academic teams.
- Participate in game prototyping, feature development, testing, and project reviews.
- Maintain proper project documentation and development workflows.
- Guide and mentor EXR students during practical sessions, project development, and technical discussions.
- Conduct occasional technical sessions, code reviews, project reviews, and doubt-clearing sessions for students.
- Stay updated with current game development technologies, tools, workflows, and industry practices.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Strong understanding of game development fundamentals.
- Good programming knowledge:
- Unity: C#
- Unreal: C++ and/or Blueprints
- Experience developing playable game projects or prototypes.
- Understanding of gameplay programming, physics, UI, animation integration, and optimization.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong passion for games and willingness to continuously learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial, indie, freelance, or personal game projects.
- Portfolio showcasing completed game projects.
- Experience with Git/version control.
- Experience with multiplayer, AI, VR/AR, mobile, or PC game development is an advantage.
- Previous experience mentoring, training, or guiding students is an advantage.
- Candidates from Kerala are preferred, particularly those who can actively participate in both development and student mentorship activities at our Kochi facility.

Work Location

This is primarily an on-site role due to the involvement in both game development projects and student mentorship.
