Role Summary
The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for children aged 2.5 – 6 years, fostering their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through age-appropriate, play-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood curriculum frameworks (e.g., play-based, Finland way curriculum).
- Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Monitor and document each child's developmental progress (cognitive, motor, social-emotional, language skills).
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and milestones.
- Organize and conduct activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, music, movement, and outdoor play.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques.
- Maintain classroom hygiene, safety, and organization of learning materials.
- Collaborate with co-teachers, teaching assistants, and school staff for smooth classroom operations.
- Prepare children for basic school readiness skills (pre-writing, pre-reading, numeracy concepts).
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and staff training sessions.
- Identify and flag any developmental concerns to parents/coordinators for early intervention.
Requirements
Education:
- Graduate, Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), B.Ed/D.El.Ed, or equivalent.
Experience:
- 2 – 3 years of experience teaching pre-primary/nursery-level children Skills:
- Strong understanding of child psychology and early childhood development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records/reports.
- Ability to manage a classroom of 15 – 25 young children with support staff.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
