The Global Settlement Services organization manages the movement of funds associated with Mastercard transactions worldwide, maintains strategic relationships with commercial and central bank partners, supports regulatory engagement, and ensures operational excellence across Mastercard's settlement ecosystem.
The Manager – Business Analysis – Settlement role is a highly visible position within Mastercard's Settlements organization that combines business analysis & transformation, payment infrastructure modernization and liquidity optimization.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping Mastercard's future settlement capabilities by leading strategic initiatives across Asia Pacific (AP) and supporting global programs that enhance settlement services, liquidity infrastructure, banking connectivity, operational resilience, and customer experience.
This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, global business teams, financial institutions, settlement banks, regulators, technology teams, and customers while influencing decisions that support Mastercard's rapidly evolving global payments ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute strategic settlement initiatives supporting Mastercard's growth, market expansion, regulatory changes, and product innovation agenda.
- Partner with regional and global stakeholders to assess, design, and implement new settlement capabilities, currencies, services, and operating models.
- Develop business cases and implementation strategies that support settlement modernization, and broader Mastercard business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process simplification, automation, controls enhancement, and operating model transformation across settlement activities.
- Partner with business, technology, treasury, and operational stakeholders to enhance settlement services and payment infrastructure capabilities, supporting new products, market expansion initiatives, and regulatory requirements by translating business and customer needs into scalable settlement solutions.
- Partner with settlement banks, liquidity providers, and financial institutions to drive banking connectivity, funding solutions, service enhancements, and settlement infrastructure initiatives, supporting network optimization, operational excellence, and the evolution of Mastercard's global settlement capabilities.
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of settlement and payment infrastructure initiatives, translating business requirements into scalable solutions while partnering across technology, banking, and operational stakeholders to support Mastercard's evolving settlement ecosystem.
- Manage global settlement invoice processing, vendor onboarding, payment approvals, and related governance activities, ensuring compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and operational requirements.
All About You:
- Master’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Financial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- High degree of expertise in Payments and Settlement, Banking, Fintech, Financial Market Infrastructure, Consulting, or related domains.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, authorization, clearing, settlement, card networks, treasury operations, liquidity management, correspondent banking, and cash management including working knowledge of payment connectivity solutions including SWIFT, host-to-host interfaces, APIs, and ISO 20022.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and navigate complex business environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across business, technology, treasury, operations, banking partners, and executive leadership.
- Ability to develop executive presentations, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
- Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
- Professional maturity and flexibility to support a global organization operating 24x7 across time zones.
