Role Overview
We are hiring experienced HMC/VMC Setters and Programmers to set up, program, and operate horizontal and vertical machining centers. You'll work with tight tolerances, interpret technical drawings, and ensure efficient production runs.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate HMC/VMC machines for production and job-work orders
- Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code/M-code) using Fanuc controllers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and job cards
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
- Perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision instruments (micrometers, height gauges, CMM basics)
- Troubleshoot machining issues and minimize cycle times without compromising quality
- Maintain machines, report breakdowns, and follow preventive maintenance schedules
- Coordinate with production planning and quality teams to meet delivery targets
Requirements
Must Have:
- 2–8 years of hands-on experience in HMC/VMC setting and programming
- Proficiency with Fanuc controllers
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, work-holding devices, and machining processes
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
Good to Have:
- Experience with Mastercam software
- Exposure to multi-axis machining (4-axis/5-axis)
- Background in automotive, aerospace, or precision component manufacturing
