We are looking for a motivated Mobile App Engineer to join our growing engineering team. At Gnani.ai, you'll help build consumer-facing (B2C) mobile apps that bring AI-powered experiences directly to everyday users. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mobile application development, an interest in React Native and cross-platform technologies, and a passion for building intuitive and reliable applications. This role offers hands-on exposure to mobile app development, API integrations, debugging, and working with AI-powered applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain mobile applications using React Native for Android and iOS• Build responsive and user-friendly mobile interfaces based on product and design requirements with a strong focus on usability, accessibility, and overall user experience• Work on integrations with REST APIs, databases, and external services• Own end-to-end app releases, including versioning, store listings, and compliance with Google Play Store and Apple App Store guidelines• Implement analytics, crash reporting, and A/B testing to drive data-informed product decisions• Monitor and continuously improve app performance metrics - startup time, crash-free rate, memory and battery usage - as well as app store ratings and reviews• Collaborate with backend, AI/ML, product, and design teams to implement application features• Debug, test, and optimize applications for performance and reliability• Follow best practices for code quality, version control, testing, and documentation• Learn and work with modern mobile development tools, frameworks, and technologies• Mentor interns and / or junior engineers or work closely with senior engineers to grow into a mentoring role
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field• 2+ years of professional experience building mobile applications for both iOS and Androidwith at least one consumer app shipped to production on the Play Store and/or App Store• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React Native and Expo• Familiarity with Android/iOS application development concepts• Experience with app performance monitoring and crash-reporting tools• Understanding of mobile app release processes, versioning, and app store guidelines (Google Play Console, App Store Connect)• Understanding of programming fundamentals, OOP, data structures, and APIs• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and Git/GitHub• Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
Good to Have
• Experience with native module development (Swift/Kotlin/Objective-C/Java) for bridging into React Native• Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, MobX, or Recoil• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, App Center)• Familiarity with push notification services (FCM/APNs) and deep linking (Universal Links / App Links)• Exposure to voice or audio features in mobile apps : real-time audio streaming, WebRTC, or speech/voice SDKs• Experience with offline-first architecture and local storage (SQLite, Realm, WatermelonDB, MMKV)• Knowledge of app store optimization (ASO) and product analytics tools (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)• Experience with automated testing frameworks for mobile (Jest, Detox, Appium, Maestro)• Familiarity with accessibility standards for mobile applications (WCAG, platform accessibility APIs)• Basic understanding of backend/API design to collaborate effectively with backend teams
