We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Merchandiser to join our garment and apparel team at Mettaloom, Howrah.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting senior merchandisers in managing orders from placement to shipment
- Following up with buyers, factories, and suppliers on order status and timelines
- Coordinating with production, sampling, and quality teams for timely execution
- Preparing and maintaining order sheets, tech packs, and critical path trackers
- Tracking sample development, approvals, and comments from buyers
- Communicating buyer requirements clearly to internal production and design teams
- Maintaining up-to-date records of orders, trims, fabrics, and accessories
- Coordinating with sourcing teams for fabric and trimmings procurement
- Preparing reports, status updates, and documentation as required
- Following up on approvals — lab dips, strike-offs, fit samples, and pre-production samples
- Assisting in costing, price negotiations, and quote preparation under guidance
- Ensuring timely dispatch and shipment coordination with the logistics team
Requirements
- Graduate in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Technology, or any related field
- 0–2 years of experience in garment / apparel merchandising (freshers with relevant education may apply)
- Basic knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and apparel production process
- Proficient in MS Office — Excel, Word, and email communication
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Candidates with exposure to woven / womenswear segment preferred
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
