Role description
UST is looking for a Scrum Master, you will lead and coach Agile teams to effectively adopt and execute Scrum practices while fostering a collaborative, self-managing, and high-performing environment. You will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, drive continuous improvement, and enable successful delivery across multiple project tracks and integration teams.
The role also requires strong project management fundamentals, including scope management, estimation, scheduling, progress tracking, risk and issue management, dependency management, and stakeholder coordination. Experience managing complex, cross-functional delivery environments with multiple workstreams is highly important.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Coach Agile teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Scrum principles, Agile practices, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and self-organizing team environment.
- Identify, track, and remove impediments that affect team productivity and delivery.
- Protect the team from external distractions and facilitate effective team focus.
- Support Product Owners in backlog management, prioritization, and sprint readiness.
- Monitor sprint and release progress, ensuring visibility of milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables.
- Coordinate delivery across multiple project tracks, workstreams, and integration teams.
- Facilitate cross-team dependency management and integration discussions.
- Proactively identify delivery risks and drive appropriate mitigation and resolution plans.
- Support project planning activities, including estimation, scheduling, scope management, resource coordination, and status reporting.
- Establish and maintain Agile metrics and dashboards to provide transparency into team and project performance.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, Product Owners, and leadership to ensure effective communication and alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, actionable improvement plans, and Agile best practices.
- Ensure high-quality, predictable, and timely delivery of project commitments.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of overall professional experience, with significant experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or in a similar Agile delivery role.
- Proven experience leading Agile/Scrum teams within software development or IT environments.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of the Scrum framework, Agile principles, and Agile delivery practices.
- Experience managing multiple project tracks, workstreams, and integration teams.
- Strong project management fundamentals, including:
- Scope management
- Estimation and planning
- Scheduling
- Progress and delivery tracking
- Risk and issue management
- Dependency management
- Stakeholder management
- Resource coordination
- Proven experience coordinating technical teams and managing cross-team dependencies and integrations.
- Demonstrated success working in complex, cross-functional, and collaborative environments.
Education & Certifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Scrum/Agile certification.
Preferred
- Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
- PMP certification is an added advantage.

- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum principles, and Agile delivery frameworks.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of cross-team dependency and integration management.
- Experience with Agile and project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of software development and IT project delivery processes.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
Preferred Technical / Project Experience
- Experience in software development or IT project management.
- Experience managing complex enterprise applications or integrated systems.
- Experience coordinating multiple Agile teams and integration teams.
- Experience with Agile metrics, sprint/release planning, and delivery reporting.
- Experience working in large-scale or enterprise Agile environments.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams is an advantage.
