- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Commerce / Business Administration.
- Diploma or Certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or Materials Management is preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP/SAP systems will be an added advantage.
Job Purpose
To manage end-to-end procurement, vendor development, inventory planning, logistics coordination, and supply chain operations for construction equipment, spare parts, consumables, and project requirements while ensuring cost optimization, timely delivery, and uninterrupted business operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing
- Manage procurement of construction equipment spare parts, consumables, lubricants, tyres, attachments, and services.
- Float RFQs, obtain quotations, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, and negotiate with suppliers.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved Purchase Requisitions (PRs).
- Ensure timely procurement of critical and emergency spares.
- Monitor procurement cycle from requisition to delivery.
Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain a strong vendor and OEM network.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, service, and cost.
- Conduct vendor audits and assessments.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and payment terms.
- Build strategic relationships with OEMs and key suppliers.
Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability.
- Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams for spare parts planning.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Manage slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and reconciliation.
Logistics & Transportation Coordination
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Monitor transportation of equipment, spare parts, and project materials.
- Ensure timely movement of materials between yards, project sites, and workshops.
- Optimize transportation costs and logistics efficiency.
- Coordinate with transport vendors and logistics partners.
Equipment & Spare Parts Management
- Support maintenance teams in identifying critical spare requirements.
- Coordinate procurement for crawler cranes, mobile cranes, piling rigs, excavators, wheel loaders, generators, and other heavy equipment.
- Ensure availability of maintenance consumables and operational materials.
- Track equipment-related procurement expenditures.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Achieve annual procurement savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Analyze market trends and pricing fluctuations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Monitor procurement expenditures against approved budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
SCM Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and Projects teams.
- Participate in planning meetings to forecast material requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities align with business objectives and project schedules.
- Support equipment mobilization and demobilization activities.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, agreements, and vendor documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate ERP records and procurement documentation.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare weekly and monthly SCM reports.
- Track procurement KPIs and supplier performance.
- Generate reports on inventory status, procurement spend, savings, and delivery performance.
- Present SCM performance updates to management.
