An edge banding machine operator sets up, operates, and maintains industrial woodworking machines to apply edge tape (like PVC, ABS, or veneer) to wooden furniture panels Their primary goal is to ensure a smooth, durable, and clean finish on materials like MDF, particle board, and plywood
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup: Adjust machine settings like temperature, feed speed, glue amounts, and pressure according to the board's thickness.
- Material Handling: Feed raw wood panels into the machine and ensure edge tape aligns perfectly.
- Finishing: Monitor automatic trimming, buffing, and corner-rounding tools to remove excess glue and create smooth edges.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished boards for defects like gaps, bubbles, burns, or uneven bonding.
- Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning, lubricate moving parts, monitor glue pots, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
Required Skills
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of machine tools and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Material Knowledge: Understanding of different panel types and edge tape materials.
- Precision: High attention to detail to ensure perfect sizing and high-quality edge finishes.
Education & Experience
- Education: Minimum 10th pass or ITI/Diploma in Carpentry, Mechanical, or a related field.
- Experience: Typically 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in a modular furniture or woodworking factory.
Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
