About the Role
We are seeking a Business Development Manager with proven experience in B2B sales within the manufacturing, industrial automation, supply chain, or technology sector.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities with manufacturing organizations. This role requires a consultative sales approach—understanding plant-level operational challenges, engaging key decision-makers, demonstrating the solution, and driving opportunities through to closure.
The candidate should be comfortable working with Plant Heads, Operations Heads, Supply Chain leaders, Materials/Stores teams, Procurement, and senior management and should have the ability to translate operational challenges into relevant technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and develop relationships with manufacturing and industrial organizations.
- Build a qualified sales pipeline through LinkedIn, outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, and other channels.
- Engage with key stakeholders including Plant Heads, Operations Heads, Supply Chain Heads, Materials/Stores Heads, Procurement leaders, and senior management.
- Conduct discovery calls to understand business requirements, operational workflows, and customer pain points.
- Identify opportunities related to:
- Manual Kanban processes
- Material shortages and delayed replenishment
- Production line stoppages
- Excess inventory
- Lack of real-time material visibility
- Inefficient material movement and tracking
- Qualify opportunities before scheduling customer visits and demonstrations.
- Conduct visits to manufacturing plants and warehouses to understand existing processes and identify relevant E-Kanban and digital workflow use cases.
- Deliver effective product demonstrations and communicate the solution's business and operational value.
- Collaborate with the product and technical teams on solution design, integrations, and technical discussions.
- Manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from initial prospecting and discovery to negotiation and closure.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, opportunity, and pipeline information in the CRM.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly targets for qualified opportunities, pipeline generation, and revenue.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- 4–6 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or consultative selling.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, B2B SaaS, ERP, MES, WMS, IoT/IIoT, supply chain technology, or related industries is preferred.
- Proven experience selling to or engaging with manufacturing and industrial organizations.
- Experience interacting with Plant Heads, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials, Stores, or senior management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, material flow, or supply chain processes will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong consultative selling and problem-solving approach.
- Ability to independently manage prospecting, discovery, customer meetings, demonstrations, follow-ups, and sales closure.
- Comfortable with regular travel and customer-facing responsibilities.
- Highly motivated, target-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Travel Expectations
The role involves approximately 6–10 working days of travel per month, depending on the quality, stage, and location of active opportunities.
Travel will be opportunity-driven and qualified, with plant visits typically scheduled after an initial discovery and qualification process.
