Role description
We are seeking a contractor with deep expertise in the ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture (EA) module, CMDB architecture, and ServiceNow product and application portfolio management capabilities to support a critical enterprise initiative.
Our organization maintains approximately 1,400 technology products that must be accurately represented within the ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture module. To successfully implement and operationalize this capability, we require specialized knowledge of ServiceNow's data model, including the relationships between products, business capabilities, applications, configuration items (CIs), services, infrastructure components, and supporting technology assets within the CMDB.
The contractor will be responsible for designing and establishing the product portfolio structure, defining and validating relationship mappings, and ensuring appropriate linkage between enterprise architecture artifacts, CMDB records, and operational workflows. This includes enabling traceability between products and related ServiceNow records such as incidents, requests, changes, problems, and other operational tickets to provide end-to-end visibility into product ownership, health, risk, and support activities.
Currently, the organization does not possess internal expertise in the ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture module, nor do we have resources with sufficient experience designing and implementing the complex dependency and relationship models required to support a portfolio of this scale. Without specialized expertise, there is significant risk of creating an inaccurate or incomplete architecture model, resulting in poor data quality, limited reporting capabilities, and reduced value from the platform investment.
The contractor will accelerate implementation, establish best practices, provide knowledge transfer to internal teams, and ensure that the Enterprise Architecture and CMDB data models are designed to support future product management, technology governance, application rationalization, operational analytics, and strategic planning initiatives.
