About the Role
Geo-Nectar Technologies is looking for an experienced Point Cloud Expert with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in point-cloud processing and US land surveying projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of point-cloud data, survey drawings, CAD production, and US surveying workflows. You will be responsible for converting and interpreting point-cloud and survey data into accurate, high-quality CAD deliverables while meeting project specifications and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Process, clean, register, classify, and analyze point-cloud data.
* Work with point clouds generated from 3D laser scanners, LiDAR, mobile mapping systems, and survey equipment.
* Extract survey features such as buildings, structures, roads, curbs, sidewalks, utilities, terrain, and other improvements.
* Develop accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings from point-cloud data.
* Prepare surfaces, contours, elevations, sections, profiles, and other survey deliverables.
* Interpret survey field data, point files, control information, and existing drawings.
* Perform quality checks on point-cloud-derived drawings and survey deliverables.
* Identify discrepancies and coordinate with the project team to resolve technical issues.
* Follow project-specific requirements and US land surveying standards.
* Handle multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and required turnaround times.
Required Qualifications
* 2-3 years of professional experience in point-cloud processing, LiDAR, surveying, or survey CAD.
* Hands-on experience with US land surveying projects.
* Strong knowledge of Civil 3D.
* Experience with point-cloud software such as Autodesk ReCap, Leica Cyclone, Trimble RealWorks, CloudCompare, Carlson, or similar platforms.
* Strong understanding of survey points, elevations, coordinates, surfaces, and terrain.
* Ability to interpret and extract information accurately from point-cloud datasets.
* Good understanding of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and as-built surveys.
* Strong attention to detail and quality control.
* Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Scan-to-CAD and Scan-to-BIM workflows.
* Experience working with terrestrial laser scanning and LiDAR datasets.
* Knowledge of RTK/GNSS and total station survey data.
* Experience creating digital terrain models and surfaces.
* Familiarity with US coordinate systems and survey control.
* Previous experience working with US-based surveyors or engineering firms.
