The HR Manager is responsible for leading and managing all human resource functions for the shipping and logistics organization. This includes talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, payroll coordination, compliance with labor laws, and HR policy implementation. The role supports business growth by ensuring an engaged, compliant, and high-performing workforce across office, warehouse, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for corporate, warehouse, transportation, and logistics roles.
- Oversee onboarding, induction, and employee lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Handle employee relations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
- Drive performance management, goal setting, and annual appraisal processes.
- Coordinate employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives.
- Identify training needs and implement learning and development programs.
- Supervise payroll inputs, attendance, leave management, and HRIS records.
- Maintain employee documentation and ensure confidentiality of HR data.
- Monitor manpower planning and succession planning.
- Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics for management.
- Partner with department heads to support organizational development and workforce planning.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and uphold company values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.
- 6–10+ years of HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or supply chain industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliance, payroll, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HRMS/HRIS and Microsoft Office.
