Key Responsibilities of a Production Manager
- Plan, organize, and control production schedules to meet targets
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials
- Monitor daily production output, quality, and efficiency
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and stores departments
- Ensure production is completed within time and cost limits
- Implement quality standards and reduce wastage and rework
- Supervise production staff and ensure discipline and safety
- Handle manpower planning, shift allocation, and training
- Maintain production records and MIS reports
- Identify process improvements to increase productivity
- Ensure compliance with safety, labor laws, and company policies
- Troubleshoot production issues and minimize downtime
