We are looking for a detail-oriented and quality-driven Software Tester to validate software applications and ensure they meet functional, usability, and business requirements. The selected candidate will work closely with development and product teams to identify defects, improve quality, and contribute to the delivery of reliable, high-performing software solutions.
- Review and analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to understand application functionality.
- Design, document, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases, usability issues, and unexpected system behaviour beyond documented test cases.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing across web and application platforms.
- Ensure software applications meet defined quality standards and business expectations.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect tracking tools such as JIRA or similar platforms.
- Clearly document defects with steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and supporting evidence.
- Validate bug fixes through re-testing and regression testing.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements and quality expectations.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality concerns to business.
- Prepare and maintain testing documentation including test plans, test cases, defect reports, and test summary reports.
- Provide regular test status updates and release readiness reports.
- Maintain traceability between requirements and test cases.
- Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend improvements to enhance testing effectiveness.
- Follow QA best practices and contribute to process improvements.
- Stay updated with software testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in software testing or quality assurance
- Hands-on experience in writing and executing test cases
- Exposure to functional and regression testing
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC, and STLC
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA
- Basic knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL is an added advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Minimum: ₹ 2 LPA
