Your work profile
- We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 5–9 years of hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, and File-AID.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications while ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMS
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, and application support
- Work on batch and online processing systems
- Utilize File-AID for data analysis, debugging, and file handling
- Optimize existing programs for performance and efficiency
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Business Analysts, and stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and best practices
- Support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Key Required Skills
- 5-9 years of exp
- Strong experience in:
- COBOL programming
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- DB2 (SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- IMS (DB/DC)
- File-AID
- Good understanding of:
- Mainframe architecture and environments
- Batch processing and scheduling tools
- Data structures and file handling on mainframes
- Experience in debugging and performance tuning
- Familiarity with version control and change management tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to CICS (optional but advantageous)
- Experience with mainframe modernization initiatives
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Experience working in banking, insurance, or financial services domains
The work timings would be 3:30 AM to 12:00 PM (9 hours) shift as per AU timings.
